More than just a website...

The Brief

The Brief

Over the next 20 years, the percentage of people over the age of 85 will double nationally.

This statistic is something that should be celebrated, rather than ignored – which is exactly why Tameside and Glossop’s Care Together programme came to fruition in 2016.

With the engagement and participation of local people, the aim of Care Together is to put people at the heart of their own health and social care. Tameside Care Together needed a web presence to engage with the public about changes to health services in the area.

Our Solution

Our Solution

The Care Together website, designed and developed by Frank Health, has been a key factor in public engagement throughout the consultation. Promoting awareness of the programme amongst local service users and providing key information such as news stories, events, links and resources, polls, a staff area, a thorough engagement timeline and a Chairman’s blog, the website is a one-stop information hub.

Using friendly imagery and avoiding jargon, Frank Health also created an informative 3-minute animation. The resulting video is an easy-to-digest account of what Care Together is all about.

This animation has pushed traffic to the new website, where all members of the public are able to voice their opinions and to become involved with designing health and care services that are fit for the future.

The Care Together website went live in May 2016, and since then, the programme has gone from strength to strength. On December 16th, Senior health and political leaders (Councillor Kieran Quinn (Leader – TMBC), Karen James (Chief Executive – T&G IC FT), Lord Peter Smith (Chair -GMHSC Strategic Partnership Board), Dr Alan Dow (Chair – T&G IC FT), Steven Pleasant (Chief Executive – TMBC and Accountable Officer of T&G CCG) came together to sign a historic £23 million deal to bring hospital, social care and community healthcare closer together to improve services for patients.

This ambitious and exciting five-year plan for the area has now been fully agreed by the Partnership.
