The Brief

The Brief

NHS Greater Manchester Shared Services provides expert support and advice to clinical commissioners to help deliver improved health services to their local populations.

They offer an extensive range of services, from contracting and analytics to finance and communications, employing approximately 350 staff and with an annual turnover of £32 million.

GMSS required a brand new website to inform the public and stakeholders about their services. Their only online presence was under the Oldham Clinical Commisioning Group (CCG) website, therefore there was a requirement for a dedicated information hub.

Our Solution

Our Solution

NHS Greater Manchester Shared Services needed their website to inform users of the full scope of the services provided in the Manchester area.

With this in mind it was important to use imagery from iconic buildings in Manchester to provide a sense of their overall reach in the Manchester area as well as an interactive map providing useful links to other important organisations and services.

As Greater Manchester Shared Services provide a wide range of services it was pivotal that this information could be located easily and quickly without users having to trawl through site pages to find the information they need. To achieve this, a simple navigation was used to direct users with minimal clicks to the services page using accordion functionality to display content in a visually appealing layout, helping users find information quickly.

The Results

The Results

Designed and built adhering to the new 2017 NHS Brand Identity Guidelines, the new website is engaging and informative. Fully responsive, the website adapts to different screen sizes meaning that whatever device GMSS's website visitors are using they receive the best possible user experience.

A sticky 'Accessibility bar' on the website means that the site conforms to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and is therefore accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.

Greater Manchester shared Services were one of our first clients to implement an SSL certificate to ensure the security of their website and their site users' personal data following the new Google update introduced in January 2017.
